GRANT COMPETITION SCHEDULE
January
On January 1st, the Latvian Foundation announces the beginning of the grant application process
January, February
The
Grants Administrator receives applications and assists applicants with
any questions. February 1st is the deadline for electronically mailed
applications as well as for materials (optional) sent by mail
(postmarked no later than February 1st )
March
The
Grants Administrator prepares the packet of proposals for the LF board.
Small projects applying for grants are published on the Latvian
Foundation’s webpage. This gives all LF members the opportunity to learn
about the projects and to provide input.
April
The
LF board evaluates submitted applications. First, small projects are
voted upon and selected. Second, the LF board selects 10 large
projectsfor inclusion in the voting process by LF membership. The Grants
Administrator announces which small projects have been selected to
receive grants, and which 10 large projects will be presented to the LF
membership.
May
Small project grantees can begin implementation
May, June
Voting period for LF members for the Large Projects category. Voting is open until June 24th.
July
Votes are counted, and the Grants Administrator informs the Applicants of the status of their application.
September
The
Latvian Foundation holds its general membership meeting. The agenda
includes the past year’s activities, next year’s budget, and the amount
of money available for grants the following year.
October, November, December
Preparation for the following year’s grant application process.
